Relationships, Health & Sex Education (RHSE)
Respect, Nurture, Inspire and Achieve are at the heart of life at St Giles. Through our RHSE curriculum, we support children to build positive relationships, develop confidence and resilience, and gain the knowledge and understanding they need to flourish both now and in the future.
As a school community, we are committed to working closely with parents and carers. The RHSE policy was developed through consultation with staff, governors, pupils and families across the federation. We are grateful to all those who contributed to the 2026 consultation for parents and carers, which demonstrated high levels of parental confidence and support for both the policy and curriculum, with feedback focusing primarily on communication and parental engagement. We use the Kapow Primary RHSE curriculum to support the delivery of our programme. Parents and carers can find further information about the curriculum and view sample resources through the Kapow Parent Information pages.
Our curriculum promotes respect, inclusion and understanding, reflecting the diversity of modern society and helping children develop the confidence and character to navigate the opportunities and challenges of modern life. Positioned at the heart of our community, we seek to build strong relationships that enrich learning, broaden horizons and prepare pupils for their future lives.
