Locality

St  Giles is proud to be part of the Bright Futures Federation and an active member of the North East Area Rural Schools (NEARS) network, working closely with eight other small village schools in the area.

NEARS schools are located in villages surrounding Haywards Heath and share similar characteristics, including small cohorts, mixed‑age classes and a strong community focus. While each school reflects the distinct character of its village, just like Bright Future Federation, all are united by a shared ethos of collaboration and high expectations.

Through the Federation and the NEARS locality, pupils and staff benefit from enriched learning opportunities, including joint enrichment, able‑pupil provision, and sporting events. Staff benefit from high‑quality professional development, moderation and the sharing of best practice, strengthening teaching and leadership across schools.

In addition, NEARS has previously worked in partnership with the wider Haywards Heath network, including local primary and secondary schools, ensuring strong collaboration that supports continuity, aspiration and positive outcomes for all pupils.
