Secondary School

Children complete primary education at the end of the academic year in which they turn eleven (Year 6).

During the preceding autumn term, parents are able to visit local secondary schools before they complete a secondary transfer form provided by the Local Authority.

The majority of our pupils transfer to Oathall Community College, for which we are a feeder school. A smaller number move on to other local secondary schools, including Chailey School and St Paul’s Catholic College, with a small number also choosing to transfer to independent secondary schools.

We place strong emphasis on ensuring that transitions are well planned and supportive of individual needs. The school maintains close professional relationships with secondary providers, enabling effective information‑sharing to support continuity of learning and pastoral care. Secondary school pastoral staff meet with our staff and pupils, and induction visits take place during the summer term, ensuring pupils feel confident and well prepared for the next stage of their education.
