  • Friday 19 May 2023 Ascension Day Church Service
  • Friday 5 May 2023 King Charles Coronation Celebrations We had a lovely day marking the coronation of King Charles. The day started with a church service at St Giles Church. The service was led by Fr David, assisted by some of Maple Class taking on roles, including that of St Charles at his coronation! The service concluded with some wonderful singing by the children.

  • Monday 6 March 2023 Book Week Book week was a huge success, it was lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm and enjoyment of reading reignited. We had a visit from author David Fuller, who shared his writing journey with us. Thank you to all the children and parents for their contributions, the costumes were fantastic and we had some lovely wooden spoon characters.
  • Wednesday 1 February 2023 Animation Workshop The PTA organised an Animation Workshop for all the classes. Thank you to Lara from PressPlay Films and to all the parents who helped. Take a look at our short animations - I think we have some budding animation experts in our mist!
  • Monday 30 January 2023 Dog Trust Visit On Monday the 30th January Buddy and Steph visited St Giles School to teach us all about dogs and keeping safe around them.

  • Wednesday 20 July 2022 Star Warts Show Success! Maple Class and Year 4 pupils put on a fantastic show! Thank you to Mrs Self, Mrs Coulson, Mrs Brooke-Webb and of course all the children! What a great end to the school year!
  • Sunday 10 July 2022 Art Week Our theme for ART WEEK this year was Street Art. The children enjoyed learning about ‘My Dog Sighs’ and created some lovely art work.

  • Thursday 26 May 2022 St Giles School May Fair On Saturday 8th May we held the St Giles School May Fair in the heart of the village. We were blessed with fantastic weather and I think the whole village came out to support us. The proceeds reflect this with a stunning pound £7085 raised. Thank you to all concerned, from matched funding donations, sponsors, raffle prize donations, parent help beforehand and on the day, all the PTA members and of course everyone who attended the event. It really was a fantastic community event enjoyed by all ages.
  • Friday 6 May 2022 O2 Young Voices On Thursday the 5th May Maple Class (year 5 & 6) went to the O2 Arena in London to the Young Voice singing event. At 10:50 a.m. the class set of to the Village Green to be picked up at 11:00 a.m. The coach journey was just under 2 hours long. The coach was chatty, full of buzz and anticipation as we made our way to the O2. When we got to the O2 there was endless queues, queues to get the coach parked, queues to get in, queues to the toilets and queues to get to our seats – we know how to queue now!

  • Monday 25 October 2021 Bowles Residential Visit On Monday 18thOctober 2021, Marvellous Maple Set of on an amazing adventure to the respected realm of Bowles! We were so excited, and a little bit silly, but it was okay because the emotions faded away when we had to go up the hill with all of our heavy luggage.
  • Friday 17 September 2021 Bluebell Railway Visit On the 14th of September, Maple set off on a journey to the Bluebell Railway to meet the bestselling author… DAME JACQUELINE WILSON!
