Children with Special Needs and Disabilities

We are committed to supporting the needs of all children. Ms Lisa Price is the Special Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator.

The school uses the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice for 0-25 years (September 2014) to identify and provide support for children with specific learning needs.

Our Inclusion Manager is Ms Lisa Price, she works two days a week.

We hold regular pupil progress meeting and keep parents fully informed of their child’s progress.

Every class has a teaching assistant with them each morning. Every teacher is a teacher of ‘pupils with special needs’; work is differentiated to ensure all pupils make good progress. We hold regular pupil progress meetings and keep parents fully informed of their child’s progress. These meetings are more frequent for pupils with additional needs.

We work closely with a range of outside agencies from within West Sussex and beyond.

We believe strongly in working with parents, and to this end strive to develop clear lines of communication and good working relationship with parents. Parents are provided with provision maps documenting progress and interventions in place to support learning.

Parents are fully involved in decisions about how best to support the learning of SEND pupils.
